On the first day of Rosh Hashanah, we join together with KAM‑Isaiah Israel Congregation for the Tashlich service. The term, Tashlich, is the first word of Micah 7:19, “You (O God) will hurl all our sins into the depths of the sea.” Please join us at the 51st Street Beach and bring a small amount of bread to throw into the water to symbolize our desire to cast away our sins as we begin Aseret Y’mei Teshuvah, the Ten Days of Repentance.
Our tradition invites us to find our own voices in our texts and to contemplate the complex realm of forgiveness in our daily lives and especially at this time of year. As a prelude to the High Holidays, we will come together to explore, listen, and find meaning in some of the voices in the Torah as we seek to add our own voices to the chain. No previous experience necessary!
