The High Holidays seem to sneak up on us each year. The time that should be spent emotionally preparing for and doing the real spiritual work for the New Year can often fade, only to get swallowed up by our busy lives. We are then left, as Rabbi Alan Lew wrote, "completely unprepared." But not this year! Join Rabbi Minkus in study, discussion and reflection (eating and recipe sharing, too) about the central themes of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. We will do this through a tour of the High Holiday Prayer book–the Machzor-–and why we say what we say (or don't) and read what we read (or don't).
Email Rabbi Minkus [email protected] if you are interested in participating.
First sessions: 6/19, 6/25, 7/2
