A special Elul learning event...
Rabbi Lappe will return to Rodfei on the second day of Rosh HaShanah, Friday, September 22, to lead a morning-long class on the SVARA approach to learning Talmud.
SVARA seeks to engage, educate, and empower a community of learned and innovative players—people who transform the Jewish world into a more creative, representative, and engaging place. SVARA offers accessible, complex, and highly accountable traditional Jewish education from a Queer perspective. SVARA presents Talmud as the best way to instill confidence, a feeling of authenticity, and love for Judaism in the Bet Midrash.
Advance sign-up is requested for this class so that there will be enough materials for all. Please sign up no later than Monday, September 5 (Labor Day) at [email protected]
Anyone who plans to attend Rabbi Lappe's class on September 22 needs to know their "aleph-bet" and should come for this overview of the SVARA approach to Talmud study on Thursday, September 7.
