This Friday evening, join us for the "KabShab Project" with an Israeli-themed potluck dinner. Our spirited Friday night service for all ages begins at 6 p.m. as musicians from our community and beyond share their musical gifts while bringing a new dimension to the experience of welcoming Shabbat. This twice-a-year special service will include new melodies from Israel we know you'll enjoy.
Also at Friday evening's potluck dinner, we will welcome special guest, Uri Keidar from Israel. We will have the opportunity to learn about Uri's work heading up the grassroots organization, Israel Hofsheet – Be Free Israel – ישראל חופשית, and its efforts to broaden the opportunities for religious pluralism in Israel, particularly with respect to Jewish life cycle events.
Uri Keidar joined Israel Hofsheet as the Executive Director in August 2017. Prior to this role, he spent over seven years in leading positions in civil society organizations and politics, both in elected and professional positions. Uri grew up in Kibbutz Givat Brenner, where he now lives with his wife and their daughter. Uri earned his BA in political science and communications from the Ben Gurion University in Be'er Sheva and completed a full military service as a tank commander in the IDF's armored corps, where he still serves an active reserve duty.
