The Akiba-Schechter Parent Network is hosting an outstanding program about Jewish overnight camps: “A Taste of Summer!” This is a collaborative program bringing representatives from ten Chicago-area overnight Jewish camps together to discuss the long-lasting formative value of the Jewish overnight camp experience. The representatives will also be available to answer individual questions parents may have about their child, such as readiness for camp, how to choose the right camp and how to help a child adapt if he/she isn’t coming with a close friend. Scholarship and grant opportunities will also be discussed.
This program is open to the community. It features a pizza dinner for families followed by a panel discussion and camp games for the children. The program will be held at Akiba-Schechter Jewish Day School, 5235 S. Cornell. Dinner at 5:30, program at 6:30. The dinner and program are free with pre-registration by October 22 ($5.00 per family at the door). For more information or to register, please see the evite or contact [email protected] or 773-493-8880.
If the time for dinner is too early, still feel free to join in the program at 6:30. There will be plenty of food available!
