The Jewish Enrichment Center (calendar) is an independent Sunday and after‑school program where children are empowered as co‑creators of Jewish life. Children establish their own relationship with Judaism through creative, in-depth projects, drawing on traditional Jewish texts and ideas, values of their families and communities, and personal experiences. And, it's a full‑service after‑school: snack, play, friendship, all in a warm, Hebrew-filled environment.
The Jewish Enrichment Center offers multiple sessions weekly, Sunday-Thursday, for children in preschool through 8th grades. For many families, the Center provides an essential after‑school childcare solution. Children are welcome to attend as many sessions/week as the family wants, and many children attend three or more days. Two sessions/week is the minimum for children in kindergarten and older. An infant/toddler group (with grown‑ups) meets on Sunday mornings, with its own dedicated early childhood educator. Families are welcome throughout the year.
At the Jewish Enrichment Center, children involve their whole selves in Jewish learning. Long-term projects let children dive into questions that matter to them while gaining foundational Jewish literacy. Children express ideas in clay, conversation, blocks, dance, and a hundred other “languages,” as part of the long tradition of Jewish conversation. The process encourages curiosity and empathy, and teaches skills for critical thinking and respectful disagreement. Children from many backgrounds learn together.
