“Hachnasat orchim.” The Mitzvah of Welcoming Guests,
We strengthen community by welcoming guests — fellow congregants, guests and strangers — to share Kiddush lunch. Kiddush lunch at Rodfei Zedek has become essential to our celebration of Shabbat. It allows us to enjoy the company of both old and new friends. It is a blessing that strengthens community, encouraging thoughtful, lively conversation. Many congregants sponsor Kiddush lunches, and we are grateful for their generosity. We thank them for their support of the opportunity to relax, sing, and learn together after Shabbat morning services through the Adopt‑a-Shabbat program.
Hosting a kiddush lunch is an opportunity to engage in this mitzvah and a lovely way to celebrate a special event such as a birthday, anniversary, or other occasion. A variety of menu options are available. Please contact Sherry Gutman, Synagogue Administrator, for more information and to reserve a date!
