Talmud and Contemporary Text in Dialogue
The Talmud is a forbiddingly complex work, but we must not be afraid of it! Rabbi Edwards may offer one or two more sessions at Yamei Limud.
Led by Rabbi Larry Edwards, who lives in Hyde Park and is a regular member of the Rodfei Zedek morning minyan. He is Rabbi of Congregation Or Chadash, and teaches at Loyola University, Catholic Theological Union, and at Congregation Kol Ami. He received a Ph.D. from Chicago Theological Seminary in 2005.
Cantillation
Shirley Holbrook will teach a small group of adults how to chant from the Torah. Anyone wanting to learn that skill or other special trop should contact her at sholbro@ucls.uchicago.edu.
